Inequality Makes the World Insecure
Aug. 15, 2005
The permanent member of the Security Council of United Nations consists of victorious nations (the United States, Britain, France, Russia, and China) of World War II, and only those countries have veto power. They have those permanent rights fundamentally. And in addition, only they have nuclear bombs equally; it is called Nuclear Club. Therefore they made the international rule [NPT] and system [IAEA] to keep their privilege. They have aimed so that only they can hold nuclear bombs. Consequently, the rule has prevented nuclear bombs development in other countries.
How ever, some exceptions have occurred. Israel holds the nuclear bomb as an open secret. India developed the nuclear bomb in rivalry with China, and then Pakistan also made them to oppose India. More ever, North Korea has declared they have couple of nuclear bombs as the means of political diplomacy. According to mass media, some counties are still trying to develop nuclear bombs. Of course, these countries feel the unfairness; why is it that only the countries of the Nuclear Club can hold nuclear bombs?
The inequalities [having veto power and nuclear bombs] cannot maintain United Nations Forces routinely. And these issues have made United Nations ineffective in international conflicts. For example, UN was not ready for Iraq war, therefore American made an alliance to fight Sadam. United Nations couldn’t be concerned about Iraq war. United Nations has become a battlefield which asserts the rights and interests of its own countries. These are postwar remnants. Why do people still hold these relics of War? Now is the 21st century. I wish the permanent members of the Security Council of United Nations renounce their claim to veto power and hold nuclear bombs. If they make perpetual United Nations Forces which is run democratically, and give United Nations all their nuclear bombs, United Nations can force to disarm globally. As a result, United Nations will become the mediator.
